Obituary of Francis Xavier Bink

East Aurora - Francis Xavier Bink, 55, died after a long illness at his home on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Francis was born on March 31, 1965 in Albany, NY, the son of the late Dolores A. Smodics and the late John H. Bink of Rensselaer, NY. Francis spent his childhood and teen years in Rensselaer, NY before moving to Elma and East Aurora, NY 35 years ago. For many years, Francis was employed by the Jewish Community Center of Buffalo as a laborer. Francis served his Community by being a very active member of the Elma Kiwanis Club obtaining the honor of Distinguished Lieutenant Governor for the Niagara Frontier South Division in 2010 and remaining Lieutenant Governor until 2012. In his capacity as Lieutenant Governor, Francis traveled to the Kiwanis International Conference in Switzerland. It was a trip he spoke of often. He enjoyed the friendships of many fellow Kiwanians whom he considered to be his Buffalo Family. Francis was a computer “geek” of sorts and loved technology, video games, and the Buffalo Bills. He had the inept talent for knowing exactly how to get there even if he had only been there once even as a child. Francis is survived by his Brother, Donald E. Bink(Julie) of Rensselaer, NY and his Sister, Bernadette M. Bink of Mayfield, NY; his Nephews, Joshuin LaDuke and Adam Bink and his Nieces, Amanda Bink and Julianne(David) Chapman; many Maternal and Paternal Aunts and Uncles; numerous Cousins, and many close friends in the Elma and East Aurora area. He was predeceased by his Brother, Jason R. Bink in November 2019. A Memorial Service is being planned in both the Elma and Rensselaer, NY areas.
